about

This is our third version of this song.

It was originally recorded in the mixed media dept of Wimbledon School of Art in 1978, using a couple of 'state of the art' synths - no keyboards back then, just knobs. This version appeared on my first album 'The Wildings', which was released as a limited edition of 500 copies.

The second version was recorded by 'The Patterns' on their live studio EP 7 inch in 1980.

This version features the music of Sebastian Vittorini. Several other tracks on this album also feature his music.

lyrics

Crossover

Crossing the Sahara desert with a pack of wolves
I’m a silly Billy - I should have known they’d eat me up

Swimming the north Atlantic with school of sharks
I’m a silly Billy - I should have known they’d eat me up

Sugar, bother - What’ll I do ?
Put the sharks on land and drown the wolves

Sledging across the Arctic with a Polar bear
I’m a silly Billy - I should have known he’d break my back

Sweating in the tropical heat with a 10 foot Python
I’m a silly Billy - I should have known he’d break my back

Sugar, bother - What’ll I do?
Put the snake on ice and boil the bear

about

...and the Native Hipsters UK

What started out as a live band evolved into an ongoing recording project. My latest album - ...and the GOLDEN HAMMER is mainly me singing so it's no longer listed under the native hipster name. The album before that 'Hard Noise To Scumrise is mainly just pure noise.
I’m always interested in people sending me stuff to work with. Contact me
